Eggleston Hall is composed of three wings: East, Main, and West. Main Eggleston was completed in 1935, at a cost of $171,899. East Eggleston (including the tower) was converted to an academic and administrative building in 1983. Named after Joseph Dupuy Eggleston Jr. (1867-1953) who was President from 1913 to 1919. Known initially for his work as Virginia's superintendent of public instruction, he built public support for VPI and laid the foundation for a strong alumni association.

Higher Education

The Higher Education program at Virginia Tech is built upon collegial relationships between faculty and students throughout the period of graduate study. Faculty serve as teachers, advisors, colleagues, and mentors to students in our Ph.D., M.A.Ed., and Certificate programs.
